PTSD

Have you experienced a traumatic event and find yourself suffering from lingering fear and anxiety? Trauma can have lasting impacts on our lives and our thoughts about ourselves and the world that can lead us feeling stuck and afraid.

Posttraumatic stress disorder - also known as PTSD - is a mental health challenge that may occur in individuals who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event such as a natural disaster, a terrorist act, an act of war, a serious accident, rape, or any other violent personal assault.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps heal from trauma without asking you to describe every detail of what happened. Instead, EMDR works by activating the brain's natural healing system while you focus on specific memories. Through guided eye movements, your brain begins to reprocess the experiences so they feel less upsetting, less vivid and more manageable. Many clients find EMDR to provide relief from some of their most troubling symptoms related to trauma, even after having felt stuck for a long time.

CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy)

CPT is a structured, effective treatment for PTSD that addressed how the traumatic events we go through impact the way we see ourselves, others and the world. Sometimes, we develop painful beliefs after a trauma, such as things being all our fault or never being able to be loved. CPT works by guiding you through examining these beliefs in a compassionate way, and helping you to find a more meaningful and accurate way of thinking.
